In Texas, a traffic citation can result in substantial
fines, costly increases in insurance premiums and ever the loss of driving privileges if you receive too many tickets
or are convicted of certain offenses. Some employers check the driving record of all prospective job applicants as part
of the employment screening process. We even have one client who was not allowed to rent a car at the Chicago O'Hare
Airport because he had too many tickets on his driving record!
The Grace Law Office has the experience and know-how
to effectively navigate the legal system in order to get your ticket dismissed or kept off your driving record. In Central
Texas there are over two dozen courts that adjudicate traffic tickets and other Class C Misdemeanors. L. Mark Grace
has respresented clients in every municipal and Justice of the Peace court in Travis, Williamson and Hays counties.
As a result of this experience, he is familliar with the personalities and procedures unique to each venue and can recommend
a legal solution that suits your individual needs.
Depending on the facts of your case and the court in which
your case is files we may recommend setting your case for trial. On the other hand, your case may be a good candidate
for a deferred disposition - an informal type of probation that will result in the dismissal of your ticket.

INFORMATION ON NO INSURANCE TICKETS
A conviction for driving without insurance (Failure to
Maintain Financial Responsibility) carries several serious consequences over and above payng a stiff fine to the court.
1. If an individual is convicted of two or more violations of No Insurance the Texas DPS will order a suspension
of that person's driver's license. DPS will reinstate the license only when a $100.00 reinstatement fee is paid
and the individual files an SR-22 proof of insurance form.
2. A conviction for No Insurance triggers a DPS
Driver Responsibility surcharge of $250.00 per year that will be billed for 3 consecutive years. Failure to pay the
surcharge will result in suspension of driving privileges.
The Grace Law Office has helped many clients avoid
license suspensions and costly surcharges. If you have received a ticket for No Insurance call us at (512) 891-8000

COMMERCIAL DRIVER'S LICENSE HOLDERS
Under Texas law, individuals with a commercial driver's license (CDL) are not
eligible for the dismissal of a moving violation by taking a Driving Safety Course or by successfully completing a deferred
disposition - an informal form of probation.
Therefore, commercial drivers have only three options available for
resolving a traffic ticket.
1. Pay the fine. Conviction will be reported to
DPS as a moving violation. 2. Request trial by judge or jury.
3. Appeal case to the County Court at Law (only applies if ticket is not filed in a court of record.)
